Attention parents of boys and girls aged 11 to 13….
A new program is starting on October 6th based at the Beenleigh neighbourhood centre on Tuesdays from 4 to 5.30pm. Fully funded under Medicare with a MHCP and includes all resources for 10 sessions targeting resilience skills and preparation for junior high school. If your child could benefit from anxiety and stress management, social skills, and positive thinking all in a fun environment, apply now as numbers will be capped to 10 per intake.
MindSet 4 Kids is a resilience program for children aged 11-14. The program is run over 10 weeks during the school terms at the Beenleigh Neighbourhood centre.
The course is facilitated by a Clinical Social Worker with a Dip in Education, a Bachelor of Social Work,a Master in Health Studies and a PhD, and who has over fifteen years of experience working with families.
Some of the sessions will address:
- Positive self image
- Communication skills
- Assertiveness training and social skills
- Positive thinking
- Grief and Loss
- Healthy bodies in Healthy Minds
- Anger and Frustration management
- Anxiety and Stress management
The cost is $250 per child for the whole program and covers insurance, resources and admin costs OR can be fully bulkbilled under Medicare with a MHCP. This particular program is designed for children who have early symptoms or as a preventative intervention.
